As a tribute to the Negro Leagues and its rich history, MLB decided to include all those players stats into Major League record books and introduce a yearly game, played at the famous Rickwood Field, commemorating those superb athletes. In response Topps tapped ex MLB player and Artist Micah Johnson to design this first set of cards and the results were nothing short of spectacular. It was an honor for us at Maul to be handed the reigns of producing this story.
During the run up to the 2022-23 NBA season, Draymond Green allowed Inside The NBA to tag along with him and partake in all the fun that is the weeks leading up to that first tip off. Warner Bros. Discovery Sports tapped Maul to handle the post on this half hour doc style show. While there was a good amount of controversy with this doc and the fact that it went forward amidst the turmoil created between the Green/Poole fight, Draymond said it best “I committed to doing this project with Warner Bros and to just bail on them because it wasn’t a convenient moment in my life isn’t who I am”.
Mina Guli is an ultra distance runner and Water Advocate. As a way to raise awareness towards the worlds water issues she was going to attempt to run 100 marathons in 100 days. As promotion for the task at hand Mina and Colgate teamed up to take a trip around The United States to show people that water is not only a far off problem. MAUL was honored to be there for every moment of that trip.
— During a live fashion show in New York City, Cotton tapped MAUL to create a stylized piece of content for a shoppable video. The deliverables were the main :60 piece of content, shoot every model on white, and create three Behind The Scenes pieces of content.
Maul was asked to put together a branded content piece that showcased the new players of the G league Ignite team playing and wearing their beats. We thought a great way would be by listening a letter they wrote to themselves.
This was one of multiple spots MAUL was contracted to edit for a Truth campaign during the MTV VMA awards.
To ramp up for the 2020 NBA playoffs, The NBA on TNT tapped us to devise and execute a feature related to the Covid-19 crisis and the basketball community. From ideation through completion the MAUL team loved every second of creating this story!
One of our Agency Clients had a very special idea for their clients upfront presentation. The client was a movie theater advertising agency and they wanted to show all the buyers out there why Cinema is the premium buy when it comes to Ad dollars. How to tell that story in a fun unique way and lean into the idea that we are talking big screen flicks! Well, relive one of the most famous movie scenes ever and maybe tweak the lines a bit to tell your story! This had to be one of the most challenging yet fun jobs we have ever undertaken, what a blast on set and in the edit room.
— For the premiere of the second installment of the Guardians franchise, Sprint wanted to integrate with the trailer and promote their new unlimited data program. Meant only for viewing in movie theaters we immediately saw a really fun and unique way to use that environment to entertain as well as grab peoples attention!
— LG and Independence Day "Resurgence" came together for a Co-Branded piece of content destined for Movie Screens. From concept to shoot to post, we completed this spot in three weeks.
— Ivory Row was looking for a production partner to help launch them into the world of video. Their request was simple, they wanted something beautiful and elegant yet simple based on budgetary constraints. Utilizing a partnership with Mary Helen Bowers, we suggested to shoot her draped in Ivory Row clothing while dancing in her beautiful SoHo studio with some natural light, fog, and a RED Dragon.
— As a sponsor for the NBA 2k League, Champion wanted to utilize that partnership and feature some of the players from the league in their new campaign titled champion 100. We spent a day with three teams getting haircuts, playing pickup basketball and of course getting some pizza since NYC is the home of the 2K league. After that we headed to the stadium with the teams to see them compete. This gave us a well rounded view of the teammates on and off the court.
— Working closely with Hankook’s agency, the task put before us was to create 3 social pieces of content meant to leverage Hankook’s relationship with Major League Baseball as well as show off some new tires. This was all without the ability to use MLB IP. What we did was pit the tires against Major League records and see if the machine could beat the man. One day, 3 completely different set ups, product shots and interviews and we got in all done just under the overtime wire :)
— Working in tandem with the PR firm Edelman, MAUL was tasked with creating an informative recipe segment with Chef and Host Chadwick Boyd, while at the same time showcasing the beauty of natural environment these fish come from. We suggest rather than cooking in our usual kitchen and showing some B-roll of Alaska maybe we can bring Chadwick to the source and cook right on location.
- The folks at Bloomberg came up with a great idea, to get to know some of the people behind one of the fastest growing jobs in the world...Coders! With the help of Comedian Adam Wade we helped them navigate the tricky world of on the fly reality style shooting.

— A candid and introductory look at some of the most promising up and coming athletes in America. This Sports Illustrated series is now in its 5th season.
— This project's objective was to evoke an emotion of what it was like when the New York Yankees were broadcast on a local station, WPIX 11. Our task was to help people remember why it was so great to have the Yankees on this cherished New York channel and why having it back there might be kind of nice.
